School Football game

Me,Mark and Andrew went to Andrew's Schools first Football game a couple of weeks ago. Morgan had talked it up big about dressing up as a cheerleader and going with us, but when we mentioned her Mee Mee asked if she could spend the night, then that is all she wrote.
We hadn't been to a highschool football game is years,so since they were playing our Church's school,we thought we would check it out. It was a home game for the other team, but had to be held at another school. It was a really fun game and a good one. Andrew's school won so that was exciting, Either way would of been fine with me,but glad they won.
Here are a few pics,we tried to find Andrew's Senior friend in the Marching band, but no luck. Also our local TV station was out there filming as it was the voted game of the week. We are looking forward to going to some more games thus year, hopefully Morgan will join us next time and she can bring her pom, poms.

Andrew and his New Senior Friend

Andrew is having a very exciting year so far,and there is so much more to come. Andrew's school is k-5 through 12th grade, and one of the programs here is the "mentoring" opportunites that they provide. Andrew has a 4th grade reading buddy on friday that he enjoys. He looks forward to fridays, and says that is his favorite day. His 4th grade buddy comes and takes him to the library, shows him the ropes and helps Andrew out when needed. Another form of mentoring is the Senior/ 1st grader program. Each senior is assigned to a 1st grader throughout the year. The first get together was in the classroom where they met their senior, then the "1st grade/senior" breakfast. Andrew and his Senior had a great time getting to know each other, and looks forward to future activities. One occasion that we are looking forward to is the Christmas Tree presentation in December. Each senior presents a Christmas tree that they decorated theirselves for their 1st grader and presents it to them in a ceremony. We are looking forward to it and I know Andrew is too. We are excited for Andrew and his new friends and can't wait to see what God has is store for all of them.
