Live Nativity

Last night we went to our little downtown to watch a live Nativity. Andrew had seen the signs when riding around and they had remembered last year so we went and watched, listened, petted live animals and had hot chocolate.
A local church runs it each year for a few hours a night for about 3-4 nights before Christmas. We love our new surroundings and quaint little town, way out in the sticks(ha),wouldn't want to be anywhere else, this is truly our hometown now,so blessed!

Pink Pig 2010(Pics) then Post to follow

Pink Pig 2010

Last night we went on our annual Pink Pig trip with some of our best buds. I think this is the 4th or 5th year we have gone, hard to keep up with and wondering how many more times the boys are going to let us take them. No signs of being "too cool" to ride the pink pig,so plans are on for next year!
When looking at the pics you will see I was the only adult that was "uncool",all the other adults that were with me were on lookers this year, but they missed out on squeezing theirselves in to a tight spot, and going for the exciting pink pig adventure ride, lol.
Here are some pics from the fun filled visit to the pink pig,and I can't believe I forgot to take pics of us at our favorite eating spot,"The Varsity",but that is usually the highlight of the night!
It was a fun outing and we look forward to continuing the Staples/Elkins Pink Pig Tradition in 2011.

Santa Party at The Garners 2010

Sunday after church our good friends had us over for their annual Santa party. This year they had a "Santa" that was a missionary. Santa came in and greeted the boys and girls(40+ kids)and parents, then went right into what the true meaning of Christmas is all about,Jesus! He read the Christmas Story, talked with the boys and girls and then collected canned goods to bring with him on his mission trip.
He then had all the boys and girls come visit with him. We were happy to have our cousin Christian join us from out of town,he is here to visit with us this week before Christmas.
I am really behind on my blog and downloads, but I do have some sweet pics from a Happy Birthday Jesus party I will soon post. This party was given by some good friends as well about a couple of weeks ago. So here are the pics from the Santa party and soon to come are some more blogs I hope to get caught up on.

Santa Breakfast 2010

Saturday we went to a small church in our little local town and had breakfast with Santa. The kids understand it is all about Jesus, but we also let them enjoy the festivities of the season just like when we were children. They know the difference and they know it is for fun,and this is a very special and exciting time to be a child so that is exactly what they are being able to do. Morgan was so precious about the whole santa visit. After sitting in his lap and visiting with him she said "I wasn't even scared of him like when I was a little girl",and Andrew was so excited because he finally was able to deliver his wish list to Santa about a Nintendo DS game, and he said "that is all I want this year":) WOW,that was a first!
Their next big festivities they are looking forward to is a huge community Happy Birthday Jesus party, their awana groups at church, and both schools this week as well, because after all Jesus is truly the reason for the season!

Senior/1st Grade Christmas Tree Presentation At GWA 2010

Today was the Christmas Tree Presentation from the seniors to the 1st graders at Andrew's school. George Walton has been around since 1969,but the traditon of Christmas Tree presentation has been for the past 25 years. At the first of the year the 1st graders are assigned a senior which is also a part of the "Mentoring" program that they invest in at GWA. He has met his senior on occasion through various activities at the school, and this one was the highlight for both 1st grader and senior. They had music by the choirs, and band,Then each was presented a tree, which was foloowed by traditional Christmas Caroling by the entire school:) Andrew was so excited, They have been practicing all week and he thought he got a glimpse of it yesterday and was so excited when the Starwars tree was his! We are so excited for Andrew, not just for the Christmas Tree but for seeing what God has in store for him at this school. We are looking forward to many exciting things to come, and in a few years Morgan will be joining him too.

Day in the Mountains

Saturday we had all planned to join my parents at their campsite in the north ga mtns for the day. At the last minute mark had to work, and we missed him terribly but we are so blessed to have work this day and time,so we are grateful and will make it up with just the 4 of us in a couple of weeks for a day trip. The kids had the best time at Mee Mee and Paw Paws campsite. Mom cooked her famous camp fries and fried chicken,we went on a hike and enjoyed God's beautiful colors and creations, what a gorgeous weekend. The kids also loved spending time with their buddy Roscoe. We had a wonderful day and so glad we could spend it with my parents, looking forward to a day with Daddy in the Mtns. soon.
